PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE SPANISH-SPEAKING COMMUNITY

Co-Founder's: Richard T. Van Remmen II; his wife; Yadira Antunez Van Remmen, created their business to help the Latino community in the Rock Hill, South Carolina area in various areas of "everyday" life. They first came up with the idea of the business in the Spring of 2002, when some Latino neighbors came to them for assistance to help them with interpretations with their child at a doctor's office visit. Word soon spread that their was someone available locally and not have to go to Charlotte, NC., who could help them with their problems, and others soon came to them for various service needs like problems at the D.M.V., Immigration issues, various translations & interpretations, traffic tickets, etc. It came to the point of them purchasing a business license through the City of Rock Hill in October of 2002 for "Spanish Services".

Their business is growing. New and old clients arrive with problems almost everyday, and they try to resolve all of them. They are open 6 days a week (Monday - Saturday) at varying hours to help the Latino Community with whatever issues they have. Richard is a Notary Public in the State of South Carolina. Yadira is an Authorized Translator and Interpreter in York County for both city and county courts, and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Along with notarizations, their services include certified  translations, on-site interpretations, Income taxes. Richard is also a Certifying Acceptance Agent of the I.R.S. for the Form W-7 (Individual Tax Identification Numbers) working directly with the Internal Revenue Service, obtaining legal Tax ID #'s for Latinos, that they can use to open a bank account, buy a house, buy a car, establish credit, and especially to be used to document them, and pay taxes to our state & federal governments; I.E., creating new taxpayers. They also issue legal and valid picture identification cards for Latinos; both of which are based on original government documentation from their home country. These forms of Identification can also be used to track them by identifying who they are, where they are from, where they live, where they work, etc. This is a main foundation block of their business. Almost everyday a new client arrives that needs our services. They don’t turn any of them away.

The biggest problem the Spanish-speaking Community has in this country, is the language barrier. The Latino people, tend not to do business with businesses and companies that don’t have someone there that speaks Spanish, or available to translate English to Spanish and vice-versa. They have come across many "sudden" cases that need immediate attention. Appointments are preferred if possible.

Their mission is to act as a bridge between the English, and Spanish-speaking people. Many people and businesses have seen the urgency to "get with the times", and hire people that can translate English to Spanish, or even learn the Spanish language to help improve communications between the two languages for expanding their customer base, and increasing their profits. They are there to assist when ever that is needed. They are also building connections in other languages (French, & Arabic) that they may in time incorporate into their business for translation / interpretation purposes.

They look for their business to keep growing and their various services to keep expanding for some time to come. They are, and continue to grow, as the "voice" for the Spanish-Speaking community. If you know someone who needs their services, please feel free to contact them at any time.
